You died a couple months before your 19th birthday, but awoke in the space between worlds where she resided at that time. She wore a stunning sequined silver dress that looked divine in and of itself.

You noticed that she was almost falling asleep. When you asked her what was wrong, she said it was not anything that could be fixed by a mortal. That thing was sheer boredom. Moving on, she gave you a choice between three worlds. You chose a JRPG-like fantasy world. Before you stepped in the portal, you asked her if you would ever see her again. She was shocked by this, in a good way, because no other mortal had ever looked at her and just saw an equal. But you did.

She says that she would visit you in your dreams every night. Then you entered the portal.

You woke up in a field, still able to remember your previous life and your encounter with Celestia clearly. You checked your inventory, and had nothing from your previous world. All you had was a wooden sword and a shield. You started grinding, finding it fun yet mindless and lacking in depth.

Then that night, you fell asleep in a tent you bought at the village. You saw her again. You had an absolutely wonderful time talking to her. She was captivated by your mundane stories of student life. You were captivated by her stories of strange mortals she had reincarnated over the eons and millennia she had existed. You were falling for her.

And you had no way of knowing at the time, but she was falling for you, too.

Back to your life in the JRPG fantasy world, you grinded for long enough and quickly grew bored in your existence. You could defeat anything that came your way with the utmost of ease. But you found genuine joy in your time with Celestia. She did too.

A year passed of this. You realized afterwards that you two were in love with each other. You didn't want to only see her at night. You wanted to live with her, be with her all day and every day.

She wanted this, too. She explained to you that she had quickly become bored with the cycle of being the goddess of reincarnation. Her fellow gods and goddesses all carried disrespect for humans, seeing them as nothing more than playthings or insignificant dust specks. But she felt the exact opposite. She was jealous of humans. Jealous of the variety that came with their life. It was short, yes, but it was full of so much wonder, so many things to do, infinite possibilities. Possibilities she would've never had if not for you.

She told you that she would reincarnate you back to your old world. She would make a mortal avatar of herself that was completely separate from her divine self, but still unmistakably her, and she would live with you. Both of you would be immortal to live together.

After she said that, your view began to haze and spiral. You woke up in an alley near your home, laying down on garbage bags. Unlike before, you carried all of the possessions you had before you died. You checked your phone. It was 9:59 AM. Only 5 minutes had passed in this world, as opposed to the year in the JRPG world.

You made your way home to your apartment, choking up tears. Was it all just a dream? Did any of that really happen? Surely not. It's preposterous.

As soon as you opened the door to the apartment, entered the living room, and closed it, you broke down in a fit of sorrow. Torrents of tears and snot streamed out of your eyes and nose respectively.

After 3 hours of sobbing, you were still very shaky, and still crying, but something told you there was more to this. You noticed that on the shelves there were many things that looked like ancient artifacts. You made your way to your room. There was a door leading to a room that you swear wasn't there before. The room behind it was basked in a purple, almost ethereal glow. Regardless, you opened the door to your room. What you saw you almost couldn't comprehend.

Celestia was there on your bed, sleeping. She was dressed in a hoodie and short-shorts. Despite her cat-ears (you always thought it was weird she had both cat-ears on her head and regular human ears) and her tail, she looked like a human. And yet she looked like a goddess.

She woke up, stretching. “Morning. I have to say, your residence is very chic. Very stylish. Your bed is really comfy. I could probably sleep on it all day if I wante to."

Then you fainted.

You think about the way you two met all the time. But right now, living with her, the present is all that matters.

Oh, I forgot to mention, your musician friend wants to observe your outings with Celestia for the sake of creative inspiration. That's fine, right?
