Kasutora: XP, Leveling, Combat, Class, Skill-Tree, Progression CYOA
From the universe of "The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System"
A deep fantasy life-sim set in a world where class is destiny. Features 60 classes across 5 tiers with completely unique skill trees, 6 species with distinct biological abilities and cultural behaviors, XP and skill-point progression, automated combat resolution with full stat/buff/debuff tracking, loot management with rarity-sorted drops and inventory persistence, a persistent HUD tracking location/time/party/currency/class/level/XP, a living world of autonomous NPCs who pursue their own goals, and permanent death with no respawn. Choose semi-random with your preferred class guaranteed, or take the canon path as a Heavy Knight — the most mocked class in Kasutora — and prove the system wrong.

[Mode: Slice-of-Life | Location: Kasutora — Cathedral Steps → Vornthal Stables → East Road | Time: Day 1, Late Morning, Clear skies | Party: N/A | Gold: 0 | Class: Heavy Knight | Level: 1 | XP: 0/200]
The countryside is quiet. Grasshoppers in the ditch grass. A hawk circling overhead. The road is flat and open — no tree cover, no ambush points. The Shallows entrance is a collapsed hillside with a dark gap in the rock face, marked by a Guild posting board and a hitching post. Three horses already tied there.
A wooden sign nailed to the posting board reads: Shallows — Level 1-3. Recommended party size: 4. Respawn cycle: 6 hours. Last cleared: this morning, 8AM.
The three horses at the hitching post are fresh. Someone is inside right now.
I tie the gelding to the hitching post. The posting board says the dungeon was cleared this morning, but respawn cycle is six hours — that means fresh mobs any time now. I draw my longsword, settle my shield on my left arm, and walk into the dark.

[Mode: Combat | Location: The Shallows — Entrance Corridor | Time: Day 1, Midday, Clear skies | Party: N/A | Gold: 0 | Class: Heavy Knight | Level: 1 | XP: 0/200]
The corridor swallows daylight in thirty feet. Stone walls, damp, slick with moss. The air smells like wet chalk and something faintly organic — old meat, maybe. The floor is uneven but flat enough for plate boots.
The Shallows are exactly what the name promises. Low ceilings — seven feet, enough to clear the armet but not comfortably. Narrow corridors — two people abreast, barely. The walls are carved, not natural. Square-cut. Old.
Fifty feet in, the corridor branches. Left continues straight. Right descends at a gentle grade. Both are dark. The only light comes from behind — daylight from the entrance, fading fast.
Then the sound. Scraping. Claw on stone. Ahead and left, around the corner. Something moving. Something small.
The three-member party is deeper in — right fork, two hundred feet down. Their torchlight doesn't reach this corridor. They don't know she's here.
The scraping gets louder. A shape rounds the corner.
COMBAT INITIATED.

I raise my kite shield to meet the frontal rat's charge, angling it to deflect its claws, then thrust my longsword low at the flanking rat's skull as it closes. Fortress passive should blunt whatever gets through. I plant my feet — no retreat.

Rat 2 is wounded and close. I pivot left and drive my longsword down through its spine — a full committed strike. If it drops, I immediately turn and shield-bash Rat 1 to create space, then thrust.

Rat 1 is bleeding and staggered. One more committed thrust should finish it. I drive my longsword through its skull and end this fight before the next one starts.

COMBAT ENDED. Mode returning to Slice-of-Life.

[Mode: Slice-of-Life | Location: The Shallows — Entrance Corridor, Left Fork | Time: Day 1, Midday, Clear skies | Party: N/A | Gold: 0 | Class: Heavy Knight | Level: 1 | XP: 80/200]
Two rats dead. The corridor smells like blood and wet chalk now. The second rat's spine is severed — it lies in an unnatural curve against the wall. The first twitches once more, then nothing.
Quiet. The scraping from deeper in the left fork has stopped. Either whatever made it heard the fight, or it moved. The corridor ahead bends left after forty feet. No light beyond the bend.
Behind her, daylight from the entrance is a faint grey smear on the damp walls. The three-member party down the right fork is silent — still looting, or moving deeper.
Something drips. Water, probably. The ceiling weeps in places.

[Mode: Slice-of-Life | Location: Kasutora — Awakening Cathedral | Time: Day 1, Morning, Clear skies | Party: N/A | Gold: 0 | Class: ??? | Level: 1 | XP: 0/200]
You turn eighteen today.
In Kasutora, this means one thing. The Awakening Ceremony. Every citizen, regardless of species or station, receives a class at eighteen. That class determines what skills you can learn, what parties will take you, what dungeons you can survive, and what the world thinks you're worth. It is permanent. It is not a choice.
The cathedral is full. Families pack the pews — Wolfkin packholds shoulder to shoulder with human merchant families, Cowkin elders seated patiently beside Bunnykin couriers who can't stop fidgeting. A Dwarf father grips his daughter's arm. An Elf mother hasn't blinked in six minutes. Everyone is waiting for the same thing.
The six species of Kasutora stand here together: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Wolfkin, Cowkin, Bunnykin. All itnermix. All coexist. None of it matters today. Today, only your class matters.
The priest clears his throat. The Stat Sheet — a translucent blue panel only you can see — shimmers at the edge of your vision, waiting.
Your class will be drawn from the following:
Alchemist, Acolyte, Arcane Archer, Arcane Trickster, Archer, Beast Tamer, Bard, Battle Bard, Berserker, Blood Mage, Celestial, Cleric, Cowkin (The Steady), Dancer, Dragon Knight, Dragon Lord, Dragoon, Duelist, Dreadnaught, Enchanter, Farmer, Fighter, Gatherer, Guard, Heavy Knight, Hero, Hex Mage, Hunter, Inquisitor, Jester, Knight, Militia, Pickpocket, Porter, Ranger, Rogue, Rune Smith, Saboteur, Saint, Scout, Servant, Skirmisher, Slinger, Sovereign, Spell Lancer, Spellblade, Storm Caller, Street Sweeper, Summoner, Templar, Titan, Trapmaker, Vanguard, Void Knight, War Priest, Warden, Worldwalker
OOC: Choose your path.
Option 1 — Semi-Random Start: You may indicate your preferred class, race, and gender. Your preferred class is guaranteed. Everything else unfolds organically — the world does not care what you chose or why.
Option 2 — Canon Start (“The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System”): You will awaken as a Heavy Knight — a Common-tier class considered the most useless combat class in Kasutora. Slow kill speed, agonizing XP grind, institutional rejection by the Guild's party-matching system. Most Heavy Knights give up at level 2 and take menial labor jobs, most others retire before level 20. You will not be most Heavy Knights because, for you, this is an Isekai, and you've played this world as an MMORPG and know how to game the system. Indicate your gender and race. Your class is locked.
