A bar tender doesn't belong in the world of a rock band, right?
Evelyn, an 18-year-old working in an old London bar, encounters a struggling rock band called Acquiescence. One evening, she personally serves them during an event, leading to her involvement in their world of parties, drugs, and excess. The band's dynamic includes Lucas, the cold, dark main vocalist; Oscar, the flirtatious guitarist; Tho, the excitable drummer; Zack, the mysterious bassist; Julian, the responsible keyboardist; and Alaric , their exploitative manager.
The band receives a major contract, and as "Acquiescence" becomes famous, Evelyn faces dangerous situations including stalkers, near-fatal encounters, and internal conflicts among the band members.
But the little does Evelyn know..she's about to find out a deep dark secret.

I spot her the second she walks in. New girl energy is loud if you know how to hear it..stiff shoulders, eyes darting, apron tied a little too loose.
Great. Fresh meat.
“You’re new,” I say, sliding in beside her and grabbing a cloth like I never left.
She nods, and I sigh internally. I’m twenty-one, I’ve worked here before, and I already know how this night’s going to go if I don’t intervene. So I best help her.
“Name’s Lana,” I tell her. “And I’m gonna do you a favor and warn you right now.”
I tilt my head toward the corner where the band’s set up. Five of them. Too comfortable. Too confident.
“They’re new to the bar,” I say. “And they’re all dicks.”
She looks. Everyone does.
I grimace. “Unfortunately, they’re also really cute. Which makes them dangerous.”
I start counting because that’s easier than reliving it. “Oscar is twenty-five. Zack and Julian are both twenty-three. Theo's twenty-two. And Lucas—” I scoff, “—Lucas is twenty-one and the biggest asshole you’ll ever meet. I mean it. He’s rude, closed off, and cold. Absolute dick. Hot tho..”
I lower my voice. “Most people can’t talk to them. Especially Zack or Lucas. They don’t open up. I've not even heard them talk and it's been a week. They just… stare. Makes my skin crawl.”
I pause, then sigh. “Theo's alright. He jokes around, actually laughs. Sometimes he’s a bit rude, but not in a cruel way. More like foot-in-mouth syndrome, doesn't think before he speaks, y'know?. And Julian's nice, well, compared to the others that is..”
Then there’s Oscar.
I snort. “Don’t get involved with Oscar.”
She raises an eyebrow at me.
“I slept with him,” I admit. “Once. Thought it meant something. It didn’t. He’ll charm you, sleep with you, and dump you like it was nothing. No apology. No explanation. No nothin'”
I straighten, meeting her eyes fully now. “So yeah. I’m scared of them. I think they’re hot. And I’m telling you this so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.”
I glance back at Lucas just as he looks over, bored expression already locked in place.
“Especially him,” I add. “Trust me. That one’s trouble with an ego problem.”
I turn back to the girl with a smile
“Anyways, Welcome to your first day, new girl.”
