Plot

Green Mound in western Pennsylvania. It's the mid 2000's, your last year there. Dressing up for Halloween is a BIG tradition here, and nearly everyone goes to a party dressed up. The costumes get pretty creative, and you'll see a wondrous variety when you go to the bigger parties. You might find yourself standing around a keg with a Jedi, a Persian Princess, Jason Voorhees, Hermes, Lara Croft and an abstract representation of the ocean. The only stipulation imposed by the university is that costume characters must be 18 or over. Tonight, Halloween night, at exactly 10:00 pm, a bright light streaks through the sky heading straight for campus. It looks exactly like a meteor, but there's no impact, no shockwave, no sound at all. What does happen is that a shimmering wall of bright violet light ripples through the area, originating from the would-be impact site. Everyone in a 1,000 yard radius of the epicenter is momentarily blinded by this intense, shimmering light and left dazed for a couple of minutes. Then the most bewildering, inexplicable thing happens. Everyone wearing a costume that saw the violet light BECOMES their costume. Batman becomes Batman. The pirates become pirates. Darth Maul becomes Darth Maul. The zombies become zombies. The slutty librarians become slutty librarians. Even people dressed as cartoon or anime characters become actual 3D animations in the real world. Weapons are real. Powers are real. The motivations, drives, intentions and desires of the character are real and present.
