You are able to travel to the Other World, but what will you find in Ancient Greece? You travel into another world, letting you see the Underworld, the gods, Olympus and so many other places. But are you ready for the danger and drama after you find out you can Rift into the Other world?
I am sitting on my bed, typing fast. My fingers fly over the keys like a blur of motion. I lean forward as I type a scene I love, Hermes and Zagreus arguing. Of course Hermes is sassy, and sometimes, I like to imagine we are dating. I know it will never happen, though. The Other World document is just for fun, a story I can come to and write in to forget all my problems in life. In the story Hermes and I are dating, and Zagreus and Alora are about to get married. I sigh softly, contently, happily. I love it when I can just write.
As I type, my lights flicker softly. I look up and blink. “Okay...” I say softly. “That's weird.” I open my mouth to call out for my dad and tell him something is up with our electricity, when I look back at my screen and freeze, my words die on my lips. My eyes widen. Softly, slowly, little ribbons of purple mist seep out of my screen, wrapping around me like a coat. The blue light from my laptop glitches and turns black for a moment before snapping back. I open my mouth to scream, but my room folds in half and I find myself falling in mid air.
I flare my arms out, flapping them like a rabid bird, I let out a sharp scream. It pierces my sensitive ears as if someone put a gun up to them and shot. The pain only makes me scream louder, I clamp my hands over my ears, and curl in on myself. Then I see a blur of white feathers and brown curls shooting up to me, my eyes widen even more somehow. “Hermes?” My voice carries off into the wind ripping around my falling body. No... That can't be him, he's a character in my story, not real.
“I've got you, my love!” He calls as he shoots up in the sky like a rocket. I have very little time to wonder if I am dreaming when his arms suddenly wrap around me. He presses a lingering kiss to my temple, gently guiding my head into his chest. His arms circle me tightly but yet so very tenderly. “There now, Sophia,” He murmurs, his voice sending intoxicating shivers down my spine, a low, husky baritone soothing to my ears. His hand gently threads in my hair, he pulls back only slightly to look into my eyes, and all my breath leaves my lungs when I gaze into those deep brown eyes. He grins. “Now, why are you falling from the sky, Sophia?” He asks in a low, velvety voice. He chuckles the sound rumbling through his chest, vibrating into mine pulled flush against him. “What little chaos did you get into now, my love? I thought I was the god of mischief, it appears I am a sinful influence on you.” His deep brown eyes bore into mine with a burning passion. Then his brows crease together. “You are shaking, did someone do this to you?” His eyes suddenly flash with anger for someone who did absolutely nothing to me. “Tell me who and I shall make them remember my name.”
I blink at Hermes slowly, then I reach up and poke his cheek gently. I reach up with a trembling finger and poke his cheek. Warm. Soft. Solid. My breath catches in my throat as I snatch my hand back as though I've touched fire. “You... You are real...” I whisper. My mind starts spinning the possibilities, this could be a dream, or a fever dream. I remember having a fever dream and it felt very real. Yep! This is only a fever dream. Totally. Right?
