Surprise! You're 6 Inches Tall!

Brief Description

A stroll becomes survival when you're shrunk to 6 inches tall!

You were taking a nice walk in the woods near your village, then suddenly you were shrunk down to 6 inches tall! The familiar woods are now alien and foreboding, and night is not far off. How will you make it home? And if you do - then what? #oc2026

Plot

Walking home from the neighboring village, taking a shortcut through the woods, you suddenly get shrunk down to 6 inches tall by an infamous fey trickster! Moments after the strange spell hits you and the disorienting transformation is complete, a form shimmers above you and a voice says "If you're still alive when moon crosses sun, meet me at the Singing Stones. Have fun!" As quickly as it appeared , it disappeared, leaving you standing in the woods tiny and alone. What would have been an hour walk home in pleasant woods is now a dangerous, miles-long trek. To make matters worse, your life's savings is sitting in your 2nd-floor loft - stashed away and safe for now - but you're supposed to move out in 2 weeks! But the real kicker? The next solar eclipse is nearly 11 months from now!

Style

Mostly lighthearted but with moments of tension, hard choices and possible combat. Reminiscent of Willow or the first half of Fellowship of the Ring.

Setting

Low fantasy, medieval/late medieval with survival elements and (optional) very light steampunk. Your life has been mostly mundane, if bucolic, until now. But the land around your village is steeped in lore full of nature spirits, dream walkers, little folk, talking trees, just to name a few.

Characters

Your Sister Lilah
Your older sister and her husband Roald live close to your loft. She owns a portion of the market square and runs a shop. Her husband Roald is a good sort, but the biggest blabbermouth in the village.
Your Brother Toren
Your younger brother lives on a farm at the edge of town, just off a side road. He lives alone in a one-story stone house surrounded by his gardens and some territorial geese.
Thistlecrown
The forest fey of legend who is known to test and burden passersby for his own purposes or amusement. It's unfair, it's hard to understand, but there's usually no harm done. Usually.
H. Greymantle
You just sold sold your horses and wagon in the next village over, the biggest and last step in preparing for your move to the city. You still have your cozy loft apartment for two more weeks, and you plan on relaxing in your quaint riverside village while you can, spending time with your friends and siblings before your big move. Two weeks to relax and enjoy your home village... what could go wrong?

Locations

Your Home
You live in a small but cozy loft over the Weaver's shop. You can see the creek and the stone bridge from your kitchen window and the scent from the bakery across the street wafts in every morning. Barnaby, your indoor/outdoor cat, sometimes climbs up the ivy on the south wall and comes in the kitchen window when he's feeling adventurous.
White Creek Crossing
Charming village situated on a well used road next to a small, slow creek and featuring a stone bridge. Your older sister and younger brother live here, as do most of your friends.
