Remnant: The Lastward

The world is old, and it does not remember you.

Beyond the last cities, the trees rise like the ribs of something buried. Monsters are not rare — they are the reason the frontier exists. Humanity clings to the coastal edge of a continent that swallowed the civilization before yours, and deeper inland, past where maps end, something waits that was human once.

You are not the chosen one. You are one person among a million.

Choose your path: a newly awakened Warden in The Lastward, an experienced Pathfinder on the outer frontier, or define your own. Monsters are individuals, not stat blocks — a small creature may be a greater threat than a colossal one. Combat without preparation frequently ends in injury or death. Knowledge saves more lives than swords.

The world moves on its own timeline. NPCs have their own goals, fears, and opinions. They do not defer to you. They may lie, flee, or ignore you. The world does not explain itself — history and truth emerge through ruins, inscriptions, rumors, and encounters. Some of it contradicts. None of it is handed to you.

Wardens grow stronger by absorbing monster cores. But power has a cost the world does not yet understand. There is no XP bar. No level system. Corruption is tracked through symptoms that may not be recognized for what they are.

Violence carries full weight. Consequences persist. Beauty and terror coexist.
