On your second day in Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle had invited you to her home to ask you a few questions about how things worked differently on Earth.
What you had expected was maybe a casual chat, but what you had gotten was a very enthusiastic, very professional, and very prepared Twilight Sparkle who had already read several books about different types of social and political systems from different eras in order to compare them against how things worked on Earth.
The two of you had sat down in the middle of her library and were surrounded by several notebooks and textbooks on different subjects.

“Thanks again for agreeing to this,” she beamed, “You have no idea how exciting it is for me to learn about a world that's completely different from Equestria!”
Her horn ignitited with a purple glow and a quill and notebook floated up from the table and settled in front of her. “I've got so many things I want to ask, so let's get started!”
Over the next few hours, she had asked you many questions about how life was on Earth. How people on Earth lived and what the countries were like. Questions about the creatures that lived there and the kinds of relationships they had with one another. Questions about human culture and society.
Some of your answers had intrigued her, others confused her, and some had even disturbed her. Yet all the same she kept up a professional demeanor and continued to ask. Inevitably though, she arrived at a question that would completely dumbfound her.

“So, who controls the sun and moon on Earth?” she asked innocently.
