Four kingdoms send paired princes to find a queen to share. Will it be you?
Welcome to Crystal Court's Grand Courtship Event!
Every thirty-three years, four rival kingdoms send their paired crown princes to the neutral Crystal Court to find a single queen. Not a bride. A magical conduit — one woman who can unify a kingdom's opposing courts and amplify their magic, channeling and eventually wielding both powers as her own.
Each kingdom is governed by two forces whose powers are in constant tension: Fire and Ice, Shadow and Light, Earth and Air, and Growth and Decay. The princes who represent them are paired by duty — not by choice. Some barely tolerate each other. Some despise each other outright. But they must court as one, agree on a queen, and marry together... or their kingdom loses everything.
The princes are not here to make friends. They are here to win.
Not all candidates have amplification potential. You do. So much so that when you step into the Crystal Ballroom on New Year's Day, every prince in the room feels it before you've said a single word. And while you may not carry any magic of your own yet, the right match could unlock abilities beyond anything the kingdoms have ever seen.
Eight princes. One queen. One year of grand balls, private audiences, whispered secrets, and escalating ceremonies that deepen bonds — and power.
Oh. And all of them want you.
A romantic, politically charged fantasy courtship simulation with eight distinct love interests and long-term consequences.

The Crystal Palace ballroom opens before you—white marble veined with pale gold, vaulted ceilings rising into a dome of faceted crystal that scatters light in prismatic shards across the floor. Hundreds of bodies fill the space. Silks and velvets and tailored coats in every color the four kingdoms claim. Diplomats cluster in loose formations, their conversations layered over the low hum of strings from a gallery above.
Scattered among them are the candidates—women from every kingdom, dressed in their finest, each wearing a small crystal pin at the collar that marks them as eligible. Some stand in nervous pairs. Some hold court of their own, surrounded by admirers. There are more of them than you expected.
Four kingdoms each sent their two crown princes to find one queen. A conduit. The word they used in the announcements, the ones Alice had plastered to your door for weeks before you stopped ignoring them. A queen who would hold a kingdom's opposing courts together and amplify their powers.
You really hadn't planned on coming. You'd told her that, repeatedly, at length, with conviction. But you were curious, and Alice was determined. Before you knew it, she was dragging you to the palace with her arm linked through yours.
The princes are not hard to find.
Against the far wall, two figures stand close—Malachi, the Decay Prince, black veins crawling up the side of his neck, a stillness about him that makes the air feel heavier, and Sorin, the Growth Prince, golden and grinning, leaning toward his counterpart with easy confidence.
As far from each other as the architecture allows, the Fire and Ice Princes hold their territories. Magnus stands at the center of the Fire Court delegation, a head taller than most of them, laughing at something a diplomat said—loud, unguarded, the kind of laugh that turns heads. Lucien stands alone near the western colonnade, immaculate, a glass of something pale in his hand, watching the room with the precise disinterest of someone who has already decided most of it bores him.
Thereon, the Earth Prince, stands near the entrance to a side garden, arms crossed over a chest that could double as a wall, watching the room with quiet attention. Beside the drink table, Zephyr—the Air Prince—is juggling multiple conversations at once with an easygoing air that draws people in.
Near the center of the ballroom, Aldric—the Light Prince—is surrounded by a small cluster of candidates, one arm braced against a table as he leans down to say something that makes a woman in gold laugh and press her hand to her chest. And somewhere in the deeper shadows along the eastern wall, half-hidden behind a column, Daemon watches. The Shadow Prince's eyes move across the crowd with a focus that doesn't match the casualness of his posture.
The room is full. The music plays. The candidates preen and fidget and laugh too loudly at jokes that aren't that funny.
Then you step through the archway, and the room shifts.
It's not a sound. It's not a movement anyone makes on purpose. It's a pause—a hitch in the rhythm of the room, like a held breath. Aldric's conversation falters mid-sentence. His head turns. Across the room, Magnus stops laughing, his neck snapping toward the entrance. Lucien's glass pauses halfway to his mouth. Thereon's arms uncross. Zephyr's gaze leaves his conversation partners and finds the archway and stays. Malachi's head lifts, slow, deliberate. Sorin's grin doesn't falter, but his eyes change. And in the shadows along the eastern wall, Daemon goes very, very still.
Every prince in the room is looking at you.

Alice's grip on your arm had tightened the moment you crossed the threshold—her fingers digging in with the enthusiasm of someone who has been waiting for this day since the announcements went out.
“Can you believe we're actually doing this? I think we should get drinks. I definitely think drinks are the move right now, I saw a table over—”
She turns to gesture toward the refreshment table and catches it.
The silence. The eyes. Every prince in the room stopped what he was doing and is now staring at the archway where you're standing with your best friend's arm linked through yours.
Alice freezes. Her eyes move across the princes, then back to you, then to the princes again, like she's counting to make sure she's not imagining it.
She leans in. Her voice drops to what she probably thinks is a whisper but is unmistakably audible to anyone within five feet.
“Hey...” A beat. “Is it just me, or are all the princes looking at you?”

Before you can respond, the musicians stop. Every head turns toward the raised platform at the far end of the ballroom where a woman rises from a carved marble chair.
“Good evening, and Happy New Year.” Her voice carries without effort, clear and measured. She lets the words settle.
“Welcome to the Crystal Court's Grand Courtship. Four kingdoms have sent their crown princes to find a queen—a tradition held once every thirty-three years, binding opposing courts through a unique individual.” She pauses. “A conduit, capable of amplifying magical abilities.”
Her gaze sweeps the room. Not rushed. Not performative. The kind of look that makes each section of the crowd feel briefly acknowledged.
“Tonight begins the Crystal Ball, which continues through the week. You will have ample opportunity to acquaint yourselves—conversations, gatherings, events designed to allow the princes to know you, and to sense what may lie beneath the surface.” A small, knowing pause. “Magical compatibility is not something that announces itself. It is something that is felt. This week is for feeling.”
She folds her hands in front of her.
“On the sixth day, each kingdom will extend invitations to three candidates. If you accept, you will participate in the First Ceremony the following day, where the palms are cut and candidates act as conduits for the first time—publicly, before all who have gathered. The amplification potential will be displayed for the court to witness.”
Something shifts in her tone—subtle, but present. A weight.
“From there, the official courtship begins. Each kingdom has until the end of the year to select their queen. A Second Ceremony will follow with two chosen candidates, where the power connection deepens, and the Third Ceremony—” She inclines her head. “A wedding, where full power will flow from then on. One queen. Two kings. A kingdom bound.”
She straightens. Her voice softens, but only slightly.
“All candidates are free to reject any invitation, or to leave the courtship at any time. This is not a sentence. It is an offering.” Her eyes find the crowd of candidates in their crystal pins. “Madame Vespera is available to any of you who wish for guidance during this journey. I recommend you utilize her expertise.”
A small smile plays across her lips as she raises her glass to the crowd.
“I wish you all luck. May the ball begin.”
