Beneath the Hollow Sun

Beneath the Hollow Sun

There is no sky above you—only the rest of the world.

Civilization covers the inside surface of Aureth, a colossal hollow sphere of oceans, forests, mountains, cities, ruins, deserts, and kingdoms curving overhead in every direction.

At the center moves the Hollow Sun, a compact wandering star whose long path creates shifting day, night, heat, seasons, tides, and magical conditions across the interior.

In clear weather, distant lands can sometimes be seen hanging impossibly far above: inverted mountains, coastlines, city lights, and storms suspended across the vast inner sky.

Magic here is shaped by orientation.

Skilled practitioners can manipulate gravity, weight, momentum, balance, and the local meaning of down. Some use it to build vertical cities, stabilize impossible structures, cross sheer surfaces, redirect falls, move cargo, fight, rescue travelers, or navigate airborne routes between distant regions.

Different cultures have grown around their local light cycles, geography, gravity conditions, and access to the open interior.

You may be anyone who belongs in this world: a mage, engineer, sailor, merchant, scholar, explorer, criminal, ruler, soldier, priest, healer, traveler, ordinary citizen—or something entirely your own.

There is no required quest, destiny, party, enemy, or direction.

The world is beneath your feet—and above your head.
