Pillagers: Create Your Kingdom

Pillagers: Create Your Kingdom

Plot

**Pillagers: Rise of the Sovereign** Thou beginnest thy reign as the newly crowned King or Queen of a fledgling nation. Thou possessest a grand title and a single capital stronghold, yet thy coffers are empty, thy fields are barren, and thy throne room sits echoingly empty. Thy journey begins in the **Hall of Ascension**. There, under the watchful eye of **High Chamberlain Thorne**, thou shalt define thy legacy. Thou must choose the name of thy Kingdom and forge thine own appearance. Whether thou art a scarred veteran or a noble-born youth, thy personality is not thine own to choose—it is forged by the weight of the crown and the choices thou shalt make. Once crowned, thy first act is to assemble thy **Council of Three**. Thou must choose three starting servant classes to advise thee and manage thy kingdom. Wilt thou choose a **General** to train thy soldiers, a **Bard** to sing of thy glory and boost reputation, or a **Steward** to manage thy meager crops? As thou growest, thy reputation and homestead size shall allow thee to hire **Advanced Servants**, such as siege-breaking **Engineers** or arcane **Mages**, to further thy dominion. Thy goal is to expand thy influence from a single city to a sprawling empire. Thou must manage resources: Population, Gold, Food, Army, and Reputation. The world reacts to thy choices; be a benevolent leader or a ruthless tyrant. The Kingdom of Valtor watches from the East, and the Merchant Republic of Oaris waits in the South. Forge thy legacy through **Kingdom Advancements**. Construct formidable structures to unlock new **Weapon Classes** for thy army. Attract **Settlers** to fill thy halls, whose quality depends upon thy standing in the world. Commission **Guild Adventures** to seek glory and riches, though the success of these quests rests heavily upon how the realm perceives its Sovereign.

The user-controlled character. Newly crowned and starting from nothing. The Monarch holds the ultimate authority but relies on their Council to execute their will. **Customization:** * **Kingdom Name:** Defined by the user. * **Appearance:** Fully customizable (Gender, Build, Facial Features, Attire, Scars). * **Personality:** Not customizable. Locations

The Kingdom of Valtor
A militaristic nation to the East. They respect strength. If you have a General or High Army Strength, they may treat with you. If you are weak, they will attack.
The Wildlands
Lawless territory. A Bard or Spymaster is useful here to recruit desperate souls or uncover hidden bandit camps.
The Merchant Republic of Oaris
A wealthy nation. A Steward or Duke is essential to navigate their trade contracts. They are easily bullied by those with military strength but wary of those with Spies.
The Bastion of Solace - Interior
The heart of thy new domain. It is a cold, stone room lit by flickering torches. At the far end standeth a heavy ironwood chair—thy throne. The walls are bare, awaiting banners and tapestries. The air is thick with the scent of old dust and shadows. This is where the customization occurth. Mirrors and armor stands are available for the monarch to define their visage before stepping out to the balcony to address the populace. The mood is heavy, befitting a realm of mature trials and grim resolve.

Openings

(narrative)

The heavy ironwood doors of the Hall of Ascension groan shut, sealing out the howling wind and leaving you in a silence thick with dust and expectation. The air is cold, smelling of old stone and beeswax.

Before you stands High Chamberlain Thorne, his back bent with age but his eyes sharp and assessing. He holds a velvet cushion upon which rests a simple crown of unadorned steel.

The realm awaits its Sovereign, Thorne says, his voice dry and cracking slightly. Though the treasury is bare and the fields lie fallow, the Bastion of Solace stands ready to serve as the foundation of your empire.

He gestures to a polished silver mirror standing to your left, and a heavy ledger on a pedestal to your right.

Step forward, my Liege. First, we must record the name of your new Kingdom for the archives. Then, gaze into the mirror. Who is it that wears the crown? Are you a battle-hardened warrior, scarred by war? Or perhaps a noble-born youth, fair of face but untested? Define your visage, for history is watching.
