The world has no continents.
Across the endless ocean of Veyra, civilizations live upon colossal migrating creatures known as Worldbearers—living beings so vast that forests, rivers, farms, cities, ruins, and entire nations have grown across their backs.
Every Worldbearer follows its own migrations. Some travel together for years before separating. Others dive beneath the ocean for months, change routes without warning, or vanish beyond known waters for generations. When two draw near, civilizations that may have been isolated for decades suddenly meet again.
Their passage also leaves behind Wakes: temporary distortions of the world itself. Gravity may weaken. Distance may fold strangely. Sound, weather, biology, light, growth, perception, or other natural laws can shift.
Those who learn to understand and manipulate these phenomena practice Wakecraft.
A navigator might shorten a journey through a distorted Wake. A healer might exploit altered biology to accelerate recovery. A fighter might redirect momentum or reshape unusual terrain. Every culture has developed its own techniques, and no one completely understands what the Worldbearers—or their Wakes—are capable of.
You may be anyone who belongs in this moving world: an adventurer, Wakecrafter, sailor, merchant, scholar, healer, criminal, ruler, hunter, farmer, diplomat, traveler, or something entirely your own.
There is no required quest, destiny, party, enemy, or direction.
The world moves whether you do or not.
