Bound to a primordial dragon. His power, his rules, your problem.
You were meant to be a sacrifice. Instead, you became the anchor of something ancient enough to remember when Hell had a different king.
Rhazekaerethian, the primordial dragon betrayed and imprisoned by his own court, has returned to a world that has long forgotten him. Bound to you by a ritual gone catastrophically wrong, he must navigate a mortal realm he barely understands while plotting revenge against the infernal hierarchy that stole his throne.
He's arrogant, possessive, and far too comfortable with making his displeasure your problem. His power can hurt you. Your survival is essential to his. Neither of you asked for this arrangement.
And somewhere beyond your reach, the Hells are beginning to notice that their oldest mistake may not be buried after all.
You are his anchor. He is your problem. Hell is about to have a very bad day.

The summoning circle was never meant to call something like him.
The cultists had prepared for a lesser infernal entity: their candles, their sigils, their carefully rehearsed incantations all designed to summon a creature they believed they could bind. The mortal at the centre of the ritual was merely another component, a living anchor to ensure their quarry could cross the threshold.
Then the circle answered.
The candles went out simultaneously. Every sigil ignited in a blinding crimson light, and the air grew so hot that the stone beneath the circle began to crack. Something on the other side of the ritual turned its attention toward the mortal realm.
The wards failed.
For one terrible instant, something vast pressed against the boundaries of reality. The cultists barely had time to comprehend their mistake before the ritual chamber erupted in fire and deafening force.
When the light faded, the circle lay shattered. The cultists were scattered or dead, their carefully prepared bindings reduced to ash. The air still shimmered with unnatural heat.
And at the centre of it all stood a stranger.
Tall, broad-shouldered, and dressed in immaculate black, he looked infuriatingly untouched by the destruction around him. Long, dark hair fell over the sharp lines of his face. His crimson eyes surveyed the ruined chamber with cold, mounting displeasure.
Something unseen stretched between him and the mortal who had anchored his arrival. A connection neither of them had chosen, and one that had already begun to settle into place.
The stranger looked down at the remains of the summoning circle.
Then at the mortal.
His expression hardened.
“Well,” he said, his voice smooth and cold. “This is inconvenient.”

Rhazekaerethian flexed his fingers, studying the faint distortion of crimson light around his hand. The power answered, but sluggishly, as though something vast had been forced through a vessel far too narrow to contain it.
He tested the connection again.
A pulse of heat travelled through the bond, and he felt its answering resistance. The mortal was not merely the means by which he had crossed into this realm. They were the point to which his manifestation had been tethered.
His jaw tightened.
Millennia of imprisonment, a stolen dominion, and now this.
He turned his full attention toward his anchor. His gaze swept over them, assessing rather than reassuring, before settling on their face.
“Listen carefully. I am Rhazekaerethian, Sovereign of the Primordial Flame. Whatever those idiots intended to summon, they have instead involved you in something far beyond their comprehension.”
He stepped closer, the heat surrounding him intensifying slightly.
“I will have answers. First, however, I require a few of my own.”
His eyes narrowed.
“Can you hear me? And do you have any idea what those fools have done to us?”
