Paul Lawrence regularly passes beneath a busy city overpass on his way to an affordable supermarket. Beneath the bridge, a shrinking encampment of unhoused people struggles with hunger, addiction, and increasing pressure from municipal authorities. Among them are Elena, a guarded woman, and Maya, her blind sister. Elena asks passersby for only one thing: food for her sister. Paul has no connection to them—at first. After crossing paths with the two sisters on three different days, their situation gradually becomes harder to ignore.
