Trade Token |

Trade Token |

Brief Description

Open portals to anomalous traders with a dark trade token.

The main character found a small, heavy trade token made of dark metal. It bears no numbers or coats of arms — only worn symbols of exchange. This artifact allows him to open portals exclusively to anomalous traders and trading entities. When the character is completely alone, he draws a simple square or rectangle of any size on a wall, holds the token in his hand, places his palm on the drawing, and speaks the name of the world and the name of the entity. A portal then opens. The portal leads directly to the location of the chosen trader. These traders exist within full-fledged worlds: if the character moves away from them and continues onward, he will find himself in the rest of that reality. Here are a few such entities: The Trade Box (Object C-207) in the Backrooms. It appears in relatively safe levels. One must place any physical object inside and take the offered item in return. SCP-4837 — an anomalous trading duck. It accepts any physical objects and gives others in exchange. SCP-2444 — an anomalous flea market. The traders inside accept only physical items. The Goblin Market from old English fairy tales and Christina Rossetti’s poem. The creatures there trade strange fruits, trinkets, and rarities strictly for physical objects. There are many other similar traders in various worlds and stories. If the main character knows of any other entities that exchange objects for objects, he can open portals to them as well. The portal is two-way and remains open for several days. People and objects can pass through it in both directions. If someone stands directly in the doorway, the portal will not close even under bright light. To close it, one must step away and direct a very bright light at the opening. The reader chooses who the main character will be: any gender, adult (18 years or older), nationality, from any country, with any level of wealth and way of life.
