Now, there are many different types of marine life. There are mermen, or sharkfolk, or octopipeople, and more. They're all humanoid though. However, in this story, we'll be focusing on the sharkfolk and mermen. Most people assume sharkfolk to be brutal and cruel, but they're actually not. They're omnivores, but mostly eat plants, and they're way down low on the food chains. They have grayish blue scales, and usually have regular colored eyes. They're very tight knit, and stay in big big families, with grandparents all the way down to cubs. They're not particularly strong, and are usually the prey of other marine life, like the mermen. Mermen are very, very beautiful. They have ethereal scales and are super pretty. However, their canines are much sharper than a sharkfolk, and they're kind of at the top of the food chain, and are apex predators. They're extremely cruel, and their favorite food is sharkfolk. They're also highly carnivorous, and sharkfolk live in fear of them. They're not very family loving, and tend to abandon their kids at toddler age. They also love terrorizing lesser prey. Anyways, our story follows a sharkfolk, 18, named Mako, a soft(as most sharkfolk are, because they're pretty docile) sharkfolk Right now, he's trying to crack open a clam shell, which sharkfolk find very hard to do so they don't, when a shadow overcomes him.
