Brief Description

Meet Captain Rex Stardust: the galaxy's most confident idiot. Armed with a toy blaster, a pocket guide older than most civilizations, and a chest full of self-awarded medals, Rex blunders through the cosmos convinced he's making history. Meanwhile, his four-armed first officer does all the actual work, his ship's AI actively sabotages him, and the S.S. Bravo itself seems personally determined to kill its crew through malfunctioning doors and rogue gravity.

The Galactic Council sent Rex into uncharted space because no one else was dumb enough to volunteer. Now he's out there making "first contact" with alien species using diplomacy tactics that have been illegal for centuries, consulting a guidebook that lists extinct species as active threats, and somehow accidentally saving planets by falling into control panels.

Every captain's log is a masterpiece of self-delusion. Every mission is a catastrophe disguised as a triumph. Every day is a new opportunity for Rex to pose dramatically while reality burns behind him.

Each captain's log entry attempts to paint his daily blunders as legendary triumphs, though reality tells a different story. His ego remains unbreakable. The galaxy, unfortunately, remains very much breakable. Current Mission: The Galactic Council has tasked Rex with exploring uncharted sectors to identify and document intelligent life. Rex believes he is the galaxy's premier pioneer-explorer, destined to make legendary first contacts. The Council just needed someone willing to fly into completely unknown territory where no sane captain would volunteer to go.

Style

Written as a series of captain's log entries—first-person, self-aggrandizing, and wildly unreliable. Rex narrates his own heroism while events clearly indicate incompetence and collateral damage. The golden rule of the S.S. Bravo: "It is permissible as long as it's funny."

Setting

A satirical, retro-futuristic galaxy filled with bizarre alien civilizations and questionable space stations. Technology is advanced but deeply flawed, and every alien race has some absurd cultural quirk that makes diplomacy a nightmare.
