Everyone is placed on a wooden balance beam above the water, and the Announcer explains that whoever remains on it the longest wins. Leafy and Pin promise to help each other. Coiny notices Blocky sitting motionless and tells him to wake up. Spongy is the first to fall after losing his balance. Claiming that she needs more space, Flower aggressively pushes Woody, Eraser, Tennis Ball, Firey, Golf Ball, Needle, and Leafy off the beam. Leafy calls for Pin's help, and Pin catches her just before she hits the water and pulls her back onto the beam.
Bubble proposes forming an alliance with Pencil and Match, and they both agree. Eager to secure their friendship, Ice Cube asks to join the alliance. As she runs toward the group, she accidentally knocks Pen off the beam before colliding with Pencil, Match, Bubble, and Snowball, causing them to fall as well. Before sinking into the water, Pencil rejects Ice Cube's request.
Noticing that Blocky still has not moved, Coiny again tells him to wake up. Coiny shakes Blocky, accidentally knocking him off the beam. However, Blocky swings beneath the beam and knocks Coiny into the water. Blocky begins warning Coiny not to shake him again, only to realize that Coiny has already fallen.
With six contestants remaining on the beam, Leafy and Pin attempt to push Flower off while Blocky watches fearfully. However, Flower notices them in time and kicks them into the air. Distracted by the sensation of “flying,” Leafy and Pin crash into Teardrop, knocking all three of them off the beam. Leafy grabs the beam and Pin’s leg, while Teardrop holds onto Pin. As Leafy begins to lose her grip, she calls for Blocky and Rocky’s help. Blocky comes to their aid but accidentally steps on Leafy’s fingers. After realizing his mistake, he grabs her arm and attempts to pull the others up. Blocky nearly falls, but he catches the beam with his feet and struggles to hold everyone. Leafy tells Teardrop to grab her other arm to redistribute their weight, making it easier for Blocky to pull them up.
Flower approaches and shows off her Non-Slip Shoes So Ha, but Blocky kicks her off the beam with one foot. Flower grabs Pin just in time, prompting Pin to lick her. Disgusted, Flower gradually loses her grip and falls into the water. Leafy congratulates Pin on eliminating Flower, and Pin and Teardrop swing back onto the beam. Leafy reminds Pin of their alliance, prompting Pin to help her swing back up as well. Blocky warns Leafy that she is stepping on him, but she realizes it too late, causing him to fall. Later, Teardrop attempts to push Rocky off the beam, but she slips, causing both of them to fall.
Leafy and Pin are the final two contestants, so they play rock paper scissors as a tiebreaker. Pin declares that her scissors beat Leafy’s paper, giving her the right to push Leafy off the beam. Leafy protests that they never agreed to this, but Pin reassures her that she will allow Leafy onto Dream Island if she wins. When Leafy reiterates that this is unfair, Pin holds up a finger and states that only one of them can win. Leafy points out that Pin is holding up the wrong finger, prompting Pin to correct herself and repeat her statement. However, the Announcer appears and declares them both winners. Rather than winning Dream Island, they earn the right to choose the members of their respective teams for a larger, longer battle to determine who wins the island. Pin appears disappointed, while Leafy remarks that it does not seem so bad.

History
The episode opens with Match, a matchstick, talking to Pencil, a No. 2 graphite pencil, about Flower overreacting to a small bug. Pencil states that Flower is afraid of bugs, and Match agrees before mentioning that Flower thinks she is fabulous. A flashback shows Flower asking Ice Cube whether she is beautiful. When Ice Cube says no, Flower angrily kicks her into the air. After overhearing the conversation, Ice Cube joins Pencil and Match and declares that she wants revenge on Flower. She expresses her happiness that they are her friends, but they show no interest. Ice Cube then tries to hug Bubble for being her friend. Despite Pencil and Match's warnings, Ice Cube accidentally pops Bubble.
Bubble is recovered by the Bubble Recovery Center, only for Pin to nearly pop her. Bubble becomes angry with Pin, but Pin explains that Blocky was holding her and blames him. After Pin breaks free by kicking Blocky, Blocky throws Needle at Bubble. Bubble dodges Needle and irritably asks Blocky what that was for. Blocky replies that he was simply "in the mood" to hurt someone before kicking Woody, who nearly falls onto Teardrop. Leafy picks Woody up and tells him to enjoy life. Woody then gazes affectionately at Teardrop as hearts appear around him. Annoyed, Teardrop kicks Woody into the air.
Tennis Ball tells Teardrop to calm down, warning that she could seriously injure Woody because he is made of balsa wood. As Woody flies through the air, Snowball spots him while riding a hang glider. Woody then lands on Rocky and is chipped upon impact. He screams in pain, prompting Eraser to cover his ears and tell Pen that Woody is cowardly and uncool. Eraser then calls Pen cool, and Pen returns the compliment.
Snowball crashes into a mountaintop and loses his grip on the hang glider, which flies away. After getting up, he notices Rocky lying unconscious and wakes him. Rocky casually greets Snowball, who becomes annoyed and throws him away. Rocky crashes into Tennis Ball, who frowns at him in disappointment. Rocky then greets Tennis Ball, calling him his "good ol' friend."
Meanwhile, Firey and Coiny argue atop Spongy, who is leaking water. Firey calls Coiny dumb, prompting Coiny to slap him. Coiny remarks that Firey is easy to slap before repeatedly slapping him. Golf Ball orders them to stop fighting and tells Spongy to take a bath because he is stinky, prompting Spongy to apologize. Eraser and Blocky then discuss Golf Ball’s bossiness, with Eraser calling her a “bossy-bot.” Blocky, Snowball, and Pen stare at him, causing him to awkwardly rephrase the insult several times. Eraser eventually describes Golf Ball as a robot built to be as bossy as possible. He then declares that he would do anything to get away from Golf Ball, Flower, Woody, and even Spongy.
Afterward, the Announcer falls from the sky and tells Eraser that he is in luck, piquing his interest. He introduces Dream Island, a luxurious one-square-mile paradise featuring a five-star hotel, a casino, six restaurants, and robot servants. He also explains that the winner decides who may accompany them to the island. When Eraser asks about the cost, the Announcer tells him that Dream Island does not cost a penny, prompting Eraser to accept the offer. However, the Announcer reveals that everyone else wants the island as well. Since none of the objects are willing to give it up, he announces that they will settle the matter with a contest, officially beginning the battle for Dream Island.

As of "All For One", she is currently up for voting to rejoin the season after participating in the battle to defeat One in the same episode.
Similar to Ice Cube, Needle is a relatively quiet and vengeful character. She is also known for a running gag that her behavior will immediately become irritable whenever the word “needy” is used directed toward her as a nickname. She will slap anyone who says the word, sometimes when it isn't even directed at her.
Needle can otherwise be personalized as a loyal, helpful, reliable and friendly contestant. In the seasons she plays in, Needle consistently helps her teammates and those who she considers friends. This can be reinforced in episodes such as "Respect to the Wicked" where Needle decides to play for two teams during a challenge. In contrast, to those that Needle considers contestants that have not treated her right, Needle may do actions to cause problems for those, such as lying, working with other contestants or slapping said contestants. Needle is also athletic, being a fast runner and being as capable to return to her normal stance after being in the form of having a bent body.
There is no canonical specification why Needle has said as to why she dislikes being called "needy", but it's likely because the word needy is used to either describe someone in poverty or someone incredibly demanding and dependent to the point of obnoxiousness. Despite this though, she has no issues with calling others names they don't like, such as when she called Puffball "puffy" as a way to threaten her to help her team during BFDIA.

Pen is a male contestant in Battle for Dream Island, Battle for BFDI, and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
In Battle for Dream Island, Pen competed on the Squishy Cherries until the merge in "A Leg Up in the Race". Pen was then eliminated in "Bowling, Now with Explosions!" with 144 votes, placing 12th overall.

In IDFB, Pen was currently in the Tiny Loser Chamber due to failing to join BFDIA. He's had a chance to join the season and received 2,426 votes[3], which is not enough, placing him 2nd to join the season.

In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Pen competed on Are You Okay until the team swap in "What's Up Bell's String?" where he was instead put on 🎶🎶 (Logo) by One. Pencil, along with the other EXITors, were all put up for debut in "What's Up Bell's String?". Pencil's votes were revealed in "Category One" and she only received 20,336 votes, which wouldn't have been enough.
