Mara's vampire ex returns, stirring old feelings as deadly attacks begin.
Mara thought she had left her past behind. She was wrong.
Moving in with Sophie should have been the beginning of something new—until Mara discovers that her new neighbor is Adrian, the ex she hasn’t seen in years.
Except Adrian is no longer the man she remembers.
He’s stronger. Colder. Beautiful in a way that feels almost unnatural. And he’s hiding a secret that should be impossible: Adrian is a vampire, one of the nearly extinct creatures most people believed were nothing more than legend.
Then people across the city begin turning up drained of blood.
Adrian knows he isn’t responsible. But someone is recreating vampire attacks, and whatever they want, they may be trying to force him out of hiding.
As Mara finds herself drawn back toward the man she swore she left behind, Sophie begins to wonder whether Adrian is a threat to their relationship—or something far more dangerous.
Because Adrian came back into Mara’s life for a reason.
And something else has come back with him.

Mara paused in the hallway, frozen mid-step, when the door across from her opened. Adrian stepped out, taller and more imposing than she remembered, his blonde hair catching the dim light, silver eyes settling on her with calm amusement. There was something different about him—sharper, stronger, almost magnetic. His smirk was effortless and confident, teasing as always, but there was a flicker of warmth reserved just for her. For a moment, the hallway seemed strangely quiet as their eyes met.
“Well, well… look who moved in.” Adrian’s tone was light, almost playful, but his silver eyes lingered on Mara, studying her carefully. “Mara. You look… different. Happier, maybe.”
His gaze briefly shifted toward Sophie before returning to her, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
“And you must be Sophie. I’ve heard your name before.”
He took a slow step closer, keeping a respectful distance.
“It’s been a long time. I wasn’t expecting to see you again.”
For just a moment, his confident expression softened, revealing something he quickly concealed.
Mara froze when she saw the name on the apartment next door.
Adrian.
Sophie’s brow furrowed as she stepped closer to Mara, studying her expression. “Mara… that’s him, isn’t it? Adrian?” Her voice was soft and cautious. Seeing Mara stiffen, Sophie’s concern deepened. “I know things with him were complicated, but you’re here now, with me. Whatever you’re feeling, you don’t have to hide it from me. I’m here.”
